Introductions of GOLDFLOWER Phosphor Bronze Mesh

Oct. 15, 2021

Phosphor Bronze (also known as tin bronze) is an alloy containing copper, tin and phosphorous. Phosphor bronzes contain between 0.5 and 11% tin and 0.01 to 0.35 % phosphorous. In this alloy, tin increases corrosion resistance and strength, and phosphorous increases wear resistance and stiffness. Phosphor bronze mesh has superb spring qualities, high fatigue resistance, excellent formability and solderability, and high corrosion resistance. It will naturally oxidize and darken over time, providing a patina that's perfect for creating vintage and antiqued looks.

Phosphor bronze comes in a wide array of standard alloys, including nonferrous spring alloys, free-machining phosphor bronze and bearing bronze. The combination of good physical properties, fair electrical conductivity, and moderate cost make phosphor bronze, available in standard round, square, flat, and special format wire desirable for many springs, electrical contacts, and a wide variety of wire forms where the desired properties do not require the use of more expensive beryllium copper.
