Mesh Count

Mesh Size
The mesh size is the actual size of the openings in the mesh. This is usually given in fractions of inches and millimeters and/or microns. A micron (μm) is one thousandth of a millimeter or twenty-five thousandths of an inch.
Strand Diameter
The description of the mesh includes the diameter of the strands used for weaving. A mesh made with the same mesh count but with thicker strands will have a smaller mesh opening.
